Different Ways to Wear a Multiway Bridesmaid Dress
Bridesmaids play an important role in the big day so it's only right that they should have a beautiful gown that makes them feel cool, confident and camera ready.
Enter twobirds… One of the hottest names for bridesmaid dresses in the UK. Real brides love them because of their beautiful colour palette and the fact you can wrap them in over 15 different ways to flatter your girls' figures.
Wedding Ideas caught up with twobirds' Michelle in her stunning Covent Garden studio to find out how to create seven of their most popular looks. "Our standard collection has 23 colours," she says. "We've got a very strong neutral palette and strong pops of colour, which work very well at a beach wedding. And then we have the capsule rosette collection which comes in six colours with rosettes on the bottom."
"You can untie and retie these dresses any which way you please!" adds Michelle. "Whichever places on a body that a woman doesn't want to have on show, you can use the twobirds dress to cover that."
Think these dreamy dresses would work for your girls? Here's an easy step-by-step guide on how to create seven of their hottest looks…
Look 1 – The classic look

"This first look really suits every figure," says Michelle. "We're just taking the straps over the shoulders, crossing at the back. Taking it to the front, we're going to give it a little belted waist and then bringing around the back and tying it. That just shows how easy it is to get the first style." This is a beautiful, classic look that would work for a traditional civil or church ceremony – we love!
Look 2 – The sweetheart neckline

The second look is perfect for bridesmaids who want a little more coverage on the big day, especially if they want to cover the tops of their arms. "By simply pulling the straps down you can cover up a lot," says Michelle. "And you can pull the fabric through to get a really nice sweetheart neckline."
Look 3 – The Grecian twist

The third look is called the Grecian twist and suits most body shapes. "It gives great support if you've got a big bust," says Michelle. "It's also got a really intricate for when you're walking down the aisle." This has to be the perfect style if you're getting married abroad. Imagine your girls walking down a beach in this style – perfection!
Look 4 – One shoulder asymmetrical

Next up is the asymmetric look. "This works rather well if someone has broad shoulders," says Michelle. "It takes the symmetry away from the shoulders and draws the eye to one side." This style is super-elegant and works for all ages of bridesmaids.
Look 5 – The dancing style

The dancing style, as Michele calls it, is perfect if you've got a big bust. "This look really creates support and structure," she says. "First we create a knot in each of the sleeves, which gives the first point of support and lift. Then we tie a knot at the nape of the neck and take the straps around the front and then finally tie them at the back." If your girls want to feel extra confident and supported on the big day, this style is for them.
Look 6 – The strapless style

One of the most popular looks for brides and bridesmaids is still strapless and getting a strapless look on your twobirds Bridesmaid dress is no problem. "This one requires a good structured strapless bra underneath because the fabric will actually anchor itself into that," says Michelle. When your girls buy their wedding underwear, make sure that it's a natural colour and seam free.
Look 7 – The classic look with a Bandeau

If your girls want a little more coverage, the twobirds bandeau top can be worn under any of the gowns, providing security where you want it most. Here Michelle goes back to the first look to show you how it it can still look amazing with extra coverage.
The Saturday's star Mollie King sported the gorgeous asymmetric look recently when she wore a twobirds dress to her sister's wedding. But it's not just adult bridesmaids that can wear these dreamy dresses. twobirds have just launched a super-cute flowergirl collection, too, so you can get a fully co-ordinated look in an instant.
The unique sizing option of just two sizes makes the twobirds dress an excellent option for scattered bridal parties and also pregnant bridesmaids. The fabric looks and feels luxurious and drapes from the body rather than clinging – flattering for all shapes and sizes. Dresses don't crease, they can be easily transport to a destination wedding and are machine washable – perfect for wearing again and again!
